OFFCUT recycling ♻️📣 Following on from an OFFCUT recycling ♻️📣 Following on from an excellent workshop in 2021 with @offcutstudio I’ve been looking to source the right press to be able to continue the processes they taught me for recycling my laser cut scraps. I received funding from @islingtonmill WEAVE programme earlier this year to allow me to develop this part of my workshop practice. If you’re an artist based in Salford, you should check out the workshop and summer school opportunities via the website 💓 I’m so happy to be based in such a supportive artistic community. I’ve found the right press and I’m excitedly awaiting delivery of it in the next month or so! I’ll be running a series of workshops to show how it works and participants will have the chance to make some jewellery out of the recycled sheets we press. Here are some of the initial samples I created with Luce, I love the patterns swirls, and colour combining all of the laser waste to make these new material sheets. This is only the beginning- the next phase is setting this up on a much larger scale and creating a @realpreciousplastic facility within the mill.
